The tops and bottoms of most food storage containers are made of different materials. Both halves of these containers are #5 plastic, so they could be easily recycled together. This means that the lid of these square containers may be a little rigid at first, but will loosen up after a few uses.

Preserve products are made exclusively with #5 recycled plastics, which do not require BPA or phthalates. BPA is typically found in #3 plastics and polycarbonates.
