One of our favourite brands of 2008, Bloom Baby have consistently impressed us with their product releases this year. Bloom was founded by four dads who wanted to bring contemporary design and intelligent innovation to a range of baby products that had traditionally been funtional but out of sync with parents’ sense of  design.  Bloom strives to design simple, clean and iconic forms that blend seamlessly in contemporary living spaces.

Bloom does not use polycarbonate in places where the product could come into contact with food - instead they use a higher quality food grade plastic.  All Bloom products are free of wood PCP, formaldehyde and other toxic wood preservatives.  The wood originates from certified sustainable beech and birch forests. Bloom also understands environmental responsibility originates by creating quality products that are designed to last for years and years.

Check out Bloom’s full range of contemporary baby products here which include the Fresco high chair, Fresco Loft, Coco Lounger, Nano high chair and Otto table and charis. Stay tuned for some exciting new Bloom launches in 2009. “I love the look of the Bloom Fresco high chair and the idea of it “growing with the child”, but am a  bit confused about the difference between the standard Fresco high chair  and  the Fresco Loft version. Please explain for me. Thanks,Nat”

We get asked this question a lot, and the answer is refreshingly simple - height and colour choice.

The Fresco Loft has an extra 15cm of height than the standard Fresco - making it a fabulous choice for flexibility of use and longevity of life in your family. Having the option of making it taller makes it  suitable for using at not just standard height tables but also benches, kitchen breakfast bars and those taller than standard dining tables that feature in many modern homes. The Fresco Loft also comes in the Ebony color (black) which is unique to the high chair market

The Bloom Fresco and Fresco Loft high chair are contemporary highchairs that stay with your child from baby to school-age. They are modern, practical and a must-have for the families who believe in form & function products that are consistent with the style of the family home.

Things were kept suitably simple this week featuring three brands we admire for their minimalist and un-complicated designs - Bloom and Brio and Babu.

Bloom Fresco High Chair - the only contemporary chair that stays with the child from birth to school age. Bebe also offers theFresco Loft version of this chair (also available in black) has an adjustable extra 15cm height and works well at the kitchen bench and higher than standard tables.  View the Bloom Baby range here..

The Brio Toddler Wobbler has a distinct advantage over the other walking carts on the market as it features an adjustable break and handle to build confidence and ease of use.  Plus we think its the coolest by a mile. If your eye sight is sharp enough you’ll notice another Brio piece - the Brio race car in black. View the Brio Toddler Wobbler and Brio Racing Car here..

These Babu bibs are made from natural fibres which are chosen for softness, comfort, absorbancy and breathability - all important criteria for bibs. Simple and minimal in design, they will both protect and compliment your baby/toddler’s outfit. View the babu bib set here.

Dina High Chair

We visited our friends at Bloom today and felt like kids in a candy shop as we were given a sneak peak of some new and exciting products to be released later in the year by Bloom Baby. One of these will be the Dina High Chair, designed by award winning New Zealand industrial designer Stephen Procter. With its elementary form and sleek white finish this one certainly embodies modern minimalism and will no doubt appeal to apartment dwellers as it is only 4cm thick when folded up.

We will keep you posted on pricing and availability of this and other new Bloom products, but can tell you it will be available in white, black and red. Watch this space.
