prams & strollers, special offers

We are happy to announce the introduction of the Silvercross Surf pram. This pram confirms all the brand strengths that accompany Silvercross, well made, value for money, great looking and highly functional.
For a limited time we are offering a great deal - buy a Silvercross Surf pram and purchase a Silvercross Stroller or Silvercross Toy for 15% off the RRP. So if you were to purchase a Surf pram and then a Dazzle stroller, at 15% off RRP, you have purchased a Pram and Stroller combination for a total of approximately $1,500 dollars! You then become a bebe VIP member for life which entitles you to an ongoing 5% discount. Sounds good? We think so. Please refer to the conditions below and see the weblisting for the all new Surf and commence the thinking process, but don’t take too long as this offer is for a limited time.
(Please be aware that the Surf Carrycot is excluded from the 15% discount but is eligible for the bebe 5% VIP discount. The 15% second Silvercross purchase supersedes the bebe 5%/7.5% VIP discount.)

We know how hard it is to make the big decision on which stroller to buy, so we have set up a test drive program for our two best selling strollers - the Stokke Xplory and the Bugaboo Cameleon.
Our new program allows you to take one of these great strollers away from our Melbourne store for half a day to give it a full and proper test drive. Take it to the park, pop it in your car boot, or take it through the supermarket aisle! We suggest you put it through the paces of your lifestyle to see how it works for you.

Jayleen, prams & strollers, road tests

I’m ready to stand up and admit i have a pram addiction; it began with the arrival of Master 1 when “unfortunately’ the only pram I could fit in my car was the Bugaboo Chamelon. July 08 - it was time for a UK trip, and along came the Maclaren Quest stroller superseding the wonky 3 wheel Quick smart stroller . April 2009 - master 2 arrived & Mountain Buggy twin was added to our inventory. Sep 2009 saw a nephew and my sister’s new Bugaboo arrive. Bliss.
After 3 years of daily use beach outings, international/domestic travel & shopping, the pram
of choice: The Bugaboo Cameleon. It’s easy to steer, fits down most shop aisles and fits a wheely board for the run away toddler. The only draw back is fading from salt water, & no way to strap the toddler down. After testing the new model- with its new and improved bits: red brake, easy to switch handle, new colours and faster on off buttons I’m off to sell the rest of the prams and convince hubby it’s time to “upgrade the Bugaboo wheely travel bag ”. It shouldn’t take much as his favourite is the Bugaboo. Here is my grandma GG as the kids know her. Ninety Five years old here and says the Bugaboo is the best pram she has ever pushed.

Meet Jayleen, one of our new resident Road Testers. Jayleen is Mum to Aengus and Finbarr and from Melbourne’s Bayside. Welcome aboard Jayleen ! We look forward to reading Jayleen’s Road Tests and also her Guest Blogs.

new products, prams & strollers

We have been waiting a long time for there to be a double pram or stroller available to Australia that is reasonable in size, weight and stability. We even nagged Silver Cross to (pretty please) hurry up and release one of their nifty double strollers here. We waited patiently, and are rapt to introduce you to the Pop Duo!
The new Silver Cross Pop Duo is a zappy double stroller, perfect for two kids up to 15kgs each. The Pop Duo features a handy umbrella fold and independent seat back and hoods for the individual comfort of each child. Headrests, lockable swivel wheels, easy-access shopping baskets and that all-important cup holder are just a few of the other features of the Pop Duo.

The team here at bebe often get asked by Stokke Xplory owners whether there will ever be a buggy board or toddler seat option released for the Xplory stroller. With the impending arrival of a newborn, many parents really don’t want to give up their pride and joy and go down the double pram route. It’s also a well-known fact in Stokke circles that toddlers don’t like to give up their Xplory view of life. Seated high above the other strollers they love to experience life on the move whilst casually chatting away to Mum or Dad. But, sometimes a new brother or sister comes along and toddler has to give up the prized position atop their beloved Xplory.
Finally, whilst it’s not a double Stokke Xplory (I’m sure that would be a delight to behold), it’s the next best thing in the form of the The Stokke Xplory Rider. The Rider board simply attaches to the Xplory chassis to allow both children to ride in style. When not in use, it’s quickly and easily folded away to await its next adventure.
Available in the first quarter of 2010, this will no doubt be welcome news for those feeling pensive about selling up for a double as until now there’s been no approved options from other manufacturers. Watch this space!

competition, prams & strollers

The countdown to the holidays is on. Woo hoo! We know first hand what a difference a quality stroller can make to family travels, especially those that involve planes, and those dreaded “in-transit” periods. The Silver Cross Fizz is a great choice for travel as it ticks all those essential boxes of being ultra light-weight (4.5kgs), carry basket and umbrella fold. It has the option of reclining back, which is such a useful feature when kiddies get over-tired pn journeys and need their naps.
This week we’re giving away a Silver Cross Fizz Stroller in Eclipse to one member of our bebe online community. To enter you just need to become a Facebook Fan and answer the question - What is your favourite Family Friendly Holiday Destination? You will see the competition post on our Facebook Wall here: www.facebook.com/bebeonline
Competition closes 3/12 at 6pm. Good luck!

Bugaboo enthusiasts can now customise their Bugaboo stroller with their child’s name thanks to US company American Terry. Available in a range of colours and of course your little one’s name, this will ensure your stroller stands out from the crowd. We’re still waiting for the day Bugaboo commissions a range of strollers to create deigner toppings for this world popular pram. We’ve seen Paul Frank and Marc Jacobs versions.. who will be next..?
I thought I’d share this family shot taken last week in sunny San Francisco. We were suprised by how miles the Stokke Xplory stroller clocked up in that it was our five year old Liam doing all the cruising, whle Harper (shown right) travelled nice & close in the Ergo Sport. It did make it much easier navigating through the city knowing both kiddies were safely restrained (so to speak!).
I recall feeling a tad self conscious after taking this snap as I looked up to find a stream of downtown office workers diverting their path off the sidewalk and on to the road to acccomodate the capture of our family moment. I asked my Dad (shown left) who is a local ”Do we look like tourists, Dad?’ . His response as he watched me zip up my camera and sling it around my neck was frank, yet gentle”I would say, yes”.

Celebrity Stroller Spotting, prams & strollers

Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban spotted this week taking Sunday out for a stroll in her Urban Mountain Buggy Stroller. Sunday looks slightly ..ahem..slouched…we’re not quite sure how ergonomic such a position is. We’re quite sure … (well we know for a fact) that Nic has a few sets of wheels to choose from, with the Mountain Buggy Urban being a wise choice for off-road strolling in Nashville.
