Do you feel a pang of environmental guilt every time you change your child’s disposable nappy? Do you like the idea of using one of the new, modern cloth nappies but find the whole concept a little confusing? Can’t face the thought of having to add nappies to the unbelievable amount of laundry you already face?  It can seem all too hard can’t it?

The clever Kiwi’s behind Honeychild cloth nappies totally understand where you’re coming from; they’ve been there. They’ve spent the last six years perfecting their design and creating what they believe, is the ‘best cloth nappy in the world!’

Over the years, they’ve learnt that there are a few things that really matter to parents (and let’s not forget babies) where nappies are concerned.

  • Unless the nappy system performs faultlessly, you are going to be left unhappy, dissatisfied and disgruntled.
  • When you’re in the trenches at 3am completing one of your baby’s 6,000 nappy changes, you can’t afford to be let down.
  • Scrimping on cost and quality in the short-term leads to hefty penalties down the track.

Let’s look at the two main questions people have about using or switching to modern cloth nappies.

“Too fiddley! Who has the time or energy?”

Honey Child are as close to a throwaway as any nappy made but without the negative cost, health and environmental consequences.

  • Shaped and fitted so all you do it snap it on, remove when soiled, then wash like normal laundry…Simple!
  • DriWickTM lining prevents nappy rash without any chemicals by keeping baby's skin dry
  • Gently breathable yet completely leak-proof MediTexTM outer layer give hospital grade fluid protection
  • Honey Child are REAL soft cloth - No "cloth like" cover
  • Super absorbent HydroFabTM core can absorb all night long (12+ hours)
  • Super fast dry time means you always have nappies ready to go
  • No soaking or scraping, just wash like normal laundry

“Honeychild will be just as expensive as disposables once you wash and dry them.”

The only way Honey Child would be as expensive as throwaway nappies would be if you used only 2 throwaway nappies a day and toilet trained your child before 2 years old.  The average baby uses 10 nappies a day and the average infant 6 nappies a day.  The average age for toilet training is nearly 3 years old.

The best way to see if Honeychild nappies are the right fit for your family, is to give them a go.  Bebe are pleased to offer the Honeychild Three Complete Nappy Packs.  This isn’t a full system, but makes for a perfect starter pack.  3 nappies is usually enough to get most infants through to their afternoon nap.  The Honeychild Three Complete Nappy Pack gives you a simple way to trial the nappies or to top up your existing system.  Add a pack of the HydroFab boosters to increase and adjust absorbtion.  Honeychild nappies are also available as single units and make perfect gifts for the eco-conscious Mum-to-be!

  1. I would love to trial these nappies. I do feel very guilty and worried for the environment and my pocket every time I use a disposable on my babies. I have a toddler and a 9 month old in nappies so that is A LOT of nappies :(
